Macmillan Coffee Morning 2023

On Friday 29th September, Group Operations Manager Rachel Mcmanamon and Group Buying Manager, Krissy Mills, with support from our Wellbeing Committee came together to host our 3rd annual coffee morning in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support.

Macmillan is a remarkable organisation: providing emotional, practical, physical, and financial support to those living with, and those impacted by cancer.

According to Macmillan, 167,000 people on average die every year from cancer related illnesses in the UK, and they predict there is currently 3 million people in the UK living with different forms of the disease - it is estimated that figure will rise to 4 million by 2030. It is important to us as individuals and as an organisation that we are helping to support those in need; this also runs in-line with one of our core values, Compassion.

We would love to extend our thanks to friends and neighbours at SDJ Sports who kindly donated a coffee machine, Lincolnshire Field Products for the veggie hamper (a tombola table favourite), and all the office-based staff that brought along tombola prizes, as well as sweet and savoury snacks.

Krissy Highlights: Macmillan are 98% funded by voluntary donations so fundraising is critical to helping to deliver the help and support for those affected by cancer. This is a charity very close to the heart of everyone here at Supermax so the annual Coffee Morning is a great way for us to show our support and come together as a company to achieve a collective goal. We could not be more proud of the team, coming together to raise in excess of £1,100 for such an great cause.

Thank you once again to all those involved in this hugely successful event.

Supermax Sponsor local school's Eco Garden

We are delighted to announce Supermax Healthcare Limited as the official Sponsor of Ayscoughfee Hall School’s PTFA King Charles III Coronation Eco Garden. Last year the school was accredited with the Eco Schools Green Flag Award, and as part of their work towards gaining the award and their continued work towards sustainability; they committed to building a School Garden. The vision for the garden is to create a stimulating and motivating place for pupils to become actively involved in growing their own fruit and vegetables to use as key ingredients in their cookery lessons, giving them a richer understanding of the value of growing and eating their own food and learning more about their outdoor surroundings.

As Supermax embarks on its own Environmental and sustainability journey towards ISO:14001 and Net Zero, the opportunity to support such a great cause that will inspire future generations was too good to turn down.

On Friday September 29th 2023, Group Managing Director Jonathan Judge was invited to the official opening of the garden to see first hand the amazing work the pupils of Ayscoughfee Hall School and local volunteers had done to bring the vision of their garden to life.
